Caprese Salad
A classic yet simple and fresh Italian salad to serve as an appetizer with your Italian meals.
SERVES: 4
INGREDIENTS
2 medium sized tomatoes
250g fresh mozzarella cheese
1 cup fresh basil leaves
Salt to sprinkle
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar (Make this by boiling balsamic vinegar and reducing it to half to thicken the glaze.)
Method
Slice tomatoes and mozzarella cheese and arrange on a platter in alternative pattern.
Insert a basil leaf with each tomato mozzarella set.
Sprinkle salt, pepper and oregano over the salad.
Drizzle olive oil and the balsamic and glaze all over the salad.
Serve immediately.
